Coaching is about a programme. Mentoring is about relationship.
How would you describe your professional expertise to someone who knows nothing about your work?
I specialize in the area of self-managed superannuation funds, strategizing with clients to ensure that they achieve the best possible financial outcomes for retirement regardless of their stage of life. I also provide financial counseling for redundancies and employment termination to a large number of organizations and companies. Other key skills include establishing reporting systems which can be scaled with business growth and developing achievable solutions for clients to assist them in reaching their personal financial goals.
What personal qualities do you bring to your work that makes you good at what you do?
I relate well to people, by empathizing and showing care towards my clients. I strive to build quality relationships with clients to ensure that I become the trusted client advisor they seek to engage with.
What do you see as your professional strengths?
Sound knowledge of corporate and legislative requirements for both superannuation and tax reporting obligations.
Ability to respond quickly to legislative changes.
Good communicator.
Passionate about helping client’s succeed.
What motivates you to make a difference to your client’s lives?
I don’t have a medical bone in my body so anytime someone throws medical terms at me I in an instant switch off. Likewise, I encounter non-financial astute clients all the time who are completely turned off by the technical tax jargon. I love the challenge of being able to take this jargon and complex problems and break these down for them so that the issues at hand can be easily understood, but more importantly so that they can make informed decisions from these discussions.
How would your clients describe you to a friend? What kind of positive feedback do you get from your clients?
Capable, caring, encouraging, interested and engaged in our affairs, technically competent.
“Thank you for your interest, encouragement and excellent advice and a special thank you for your very kind words. I always look forward to meeting with you and appreciate
the strong support you and the other W & C friends have given us – that has certainly helped us along the way.” (actual feedback from a client a few weeks ago)
What do you do like to do for leisure/pleasure?
Travelling, cooking, bike riding, shopping for shoes and having plenty of coffees with my family and friends.
What makes you laugh?
Reading the funniest things kids say…out of the mouths of babes!
Tell us something about your self that people would find surprising.
I have a shoe fetish….I quite often hear my name and Imelda Marcos’ name mentioned in the same sentence.
